Punjab P&D Observes September 14 as an Anti-Dengue Day

Punjab Planning and Development Department organized, here on Sunday, a walk to mark the Anti-dengue day. The walk led by the Member, P&D Ijaz Hussain and Deputy Secretary (Admn) P&D, Chief Education, Chief Health, Chief PPH, Chief R&D, Chief Agriculture, Chief PPP Cell, Chief Capacity Building PPP Cell, Assistant Chief PPH,  Assistant Chief Coordination, Section Officer General, Protocol Officer, Information Officer, P&D and number of employees participated in the walk. 

Addressing the participants, Member P&D Ijaz Hussain said that Punjab Government, on Sunday, is observing September 14 as “Anti-Dengue Day” with a determination that all segment of society would again step forward against dengue mosquitos and ensure protection of human lives by utilizing all possible resources. “War against dengue has not yet completely finished, while the efforts would continue until its complete eradication”, he said. He told that Punjab Government had saved thousands of lives by taking timely steps during the last years and situation with regard to dengue virus was under control across the Province as compared to last years due to effective bold steps taken by the Government.  All segments of society would have to play their effective role against dengue virus to defeat it through collective efforts, P&D Member added.

Beside this, the Punjab P&D Department, launching an extensive drive to avert the spread of dengue mosquitoes also carried out grand cleanliness operation at the P&D Complex. All officers and their staff members ensured their presence in the offices and also participated in the cleanliness drive. As part of the cleanliness campaign, the P&D Department also distributed handbills regarding awareness about precautions and safety measures against dengue mosquitoes among officers and other staff. Different sign boards and banners related to instructions for cleanliness were displayed at the main gate and all entry points of the P&D Complex by the administration.
