Punjab Government Approves Eleven Development Schemes

The Punjab government approved 11 development schemes of different sectors with an estimated cost of PKR. 15.827 Billion.

These schemes were approved in the 10th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party of ongoing fiscal year 2014-15 presided over by the Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman Muhammad Irfan Elahi. A spokesman of the P&D stated that Provincial Secretary P&D Waseem Ajmal Chaudhry, members of the Planning & Development Board, provincial secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.

The approved schemes included:

  • Upgradation of ICU and operation theatres at Allied Hospital, Faisalabad at the cost of PKR. 346.330 Million
  • Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Project, construction of bus depot near Peshawar Morr at the cost of PKR. 1.5 Billion
  • Western Industrial Waste Water Treatment Plant for Faisalabad, (Concept Clearance Paper) at the cost of PKR.9.8 Billion
  • Comprehensive Master Planning for Water Supply, Sewerage, Drainage and Waste Water Treatment System in Rawalpindi. (PC-II) at the cost of PKR. 50 Million
  • Feasibility study and detailed design for augmentation of water supply to Rawalpindi based on Chahan Dam, Rawalpindi (PC-II) at the cost of PKR. 20 Million
  • Automation of stamp paper (E-Stamping) at the cost of PKR. 207.224 Million
  • Widening/improvement of metalled road from Lahore-Sheikhupura Road, Adda Joinwala More to Sheikhupura-Muridke Road, I/C Link to Punjab Apparel Park, District Sheikhupura, at the cost of PKR. 709.843 Million
  • Widening/improvement of road from Kahna Katcha Road to Halloki Railway Crossing at the cost of PKR. 366.262 Million
  • Construction of metalled road from Benazir Road at Railway Crossing 1/4/L to Renala Khurd along Railway Line) Via Education University, Okara in District Okara at the cost of PKR. 281.741 Million
  • Construction of road from Gogera to Jandraka in District Okara at the cost of PKR. 225.430 Million
  • Improvement of Jhal Khanuana Chowk, Faisalabad at the cost of PKR. 2.3 Billion
