Punjab Government is going to Construct eight thousand apartments for low income citizens of Punjab
Finance Minister Punjab Mian Mujtaba Shujah Ur Rehman has said that the Punjab Government is going to open a new era of Infrastructure development in Province with the help of Private Sector Investment. In this connection, eight thousand apartments for low income citizens of Punjab will be constructed in collaboration with the Private Sector and Punjab Government under the Public Private Partnership mode.
He announced this while chairing the 17th meeting of Public Private Partnership Steering Committee held at P&D Complex Lahore. Chairman Planning and Development Punjab Muhammad Irfan Elahi, Agha Waqar Javed Member Public Private Partnership Cell P&D, Member PPP steering Committee Engr. Qamar-ul-Islam Raja (MPA), Chaudhary Iftikhar Hussain, MPA, Director General LDA Ahad Khan Cheema and administrative Secretaries concerned Punjab Government Departments also attended the meeting.
Presiding over the meeting, the Finance Minister approved two low cost projects titled Construction of Affordable housing Apartments at Ashiana-E-Iqbal Burki Road Lahore and Construction of Affordable Housing units at Ashina-E-Quaid Attari Saroba, Lahore. He also granted approval to the another project named as Construction of Flyover at Railway Crossing at Defence Road, Kacha Kahna Lahore under PPP Basis. The Finance Minister, during the meeting, also appreciated the efforts of the Public Private Partnership cell, P&D Department, LDA and Risk Management Unit Finance Department to approve these development projects for facilitation to the general public in a short duration.
